THE RASAJA FOUNDATION

The Rasaja Foundation, an educational, scientific and cultural institution was created in 1984 by the late Jaya Appasamy, a renowned artist, art historian and art critic. Her efforts won the support of a dedicated group of art lovers who helped in the realization of her dreams. The Foundation is a charitable Registered Society and is located at H-38 Kailash Colony, New Delhi 110 048, the home bequeathed by Jaya to the Rasaja Foundation.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The aims and objectives of the Foundation include bringing to the notice of art fraternity its rare and valuable collection of artifacts currently housed at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi , organizing periodical Exhibitions of selected works and promotion of research on the varied tangible and intangible aspects of the arts and crafts. The Foundation will also publish books, monographs, research papers, catalogues, portfolios and so on, which will contribute to the enhancement of cultural and scientific information. In conformity with the aspirations of the Founder it is hoped that in course of time the Foundation may attract donations of collections of manuscripts, books, photographs, slides and other assorted artifacts brought together by individual scholars and collectors during their endeavours of a lifetime so that the risk of dispersion or loss of these valuable resources is averted.
