FUTURE DIRECTIONS

While continuing programmes of Exhibitions, Lectures and associated events the main thrust will be in the area of research. Every attempt will be made to procure the necessary resources to sustain the storage of archival material and build a documentation centre comprising collections of books, slides and pictorials. Research activity will receive every encouragement, the main thrust being towards the Company Period and the genesis of the modern art movement on the sub-continent. Ethnographic research with an orientation towards cultural and art historical studies, technology and techniques will also receive attention.
